A little bit about
our history

It's always good to know a little about the background of the people you work with, so here's a little bit of our history and how we became Naomi Financial in 2022!

If you have any other questions then ask away!

2005

My career in financial services - beginning at Skipton Building Society - was entirely accidental. In 2005, I started my role there in order to save up to go travelling to New Zealand. I ended up staying there for 3 years and absolutely loved working for them. What a fantastic place to work!

That's where I fell in love with mortgages. I started off working in the underwriting department before moving into the subprime market working alongside a mortgage broker while I gained my qualifications to advise on mortgages.

2008

Once I had gained my mortgage adviser qualifications, I moved away from where I'd grown up and got a position at Santander as a mortgage adviser. This was a retail position in branch and that was where I found my love of working with the public face to face and knew this was the career I wanted to take.

Being at Santander I learned of the huge difference in circumstances that people faced but how also offering that personal touch went a long way to making the customer feel comfortable and happy with their decision.

I worked at Santander for 5 years until my maternity leave in 2013.

2012

One of the things I'd always wanted to do was to renovate a property and I got that opportunity in 2011. Although classing this as a renovation is a bit of a stretch - it was a complete barn conversion, a barn that was pretty much derelict!

This was my first foray into property development and - despite all the stresses and the steep learning curve - I absolutely loved it!

We completed the project in 2012 and it turned out to be a beautiful place and a perfect home for what came next!

2013

In 2013, I had to take a step back from my career as we welcomed a gorgeous new addition to the family - my beautiful daughter, Ava.

I went back to work part-time and three years later I had my lovely little boy, Austin.

It's great to see them both thriving and I couldn't imagine my life without them!

2017

Until the launch of Naomi Financial in 2022, I spent a few years at other mortgage brokers, not only working with some great people but also gaining a huge amount of knowledge, particularly on the more technical side of mortgages outside of the residential mortgage market such as commercial, bridging finance, self-build and investor buy to let products.

This knowledge has stood me in good stead as it forms a large part of what I do now.

However, I was ready for the next step!

2022

Ever since I started in the financial services industry I'd always wanted my own business and it was my dream to have my own mortgage brokerage with my own brand.

I finally took the plunge in 2022 and it was the best work decision I've ever made! It has gone better than I could have ever dreamed and it's all thanks to my wonderful clients who have supported me in the launch of my new business. I can't wait for the years ahead and what they'll bring!

If you'd like to speak to me about how I can help you with your mortgage and plans for the future then please message me, I can't wait for us to work together!
